The HPE 3100 EI Switch Series enhances security by providing reliable fully, managed Fast Ethernet Layer 2 switches ideal for the access layer of medium and large enterprises. Features include enterprise class quality of service (QoS) and security features including rate limiting, QinQ, ACLs, a 24-port PoE model, and improved reliability with backup redundancy. The 3100 EI Switch Series can be managed with the optional HPE Intelligent Management Center (IMC) Software Platform for a single view of your entire network.

Enhanced Quality of Service (QoS) and Service ControlThe HPE 3100 EI Switch Series provides traffic prioritization with supported congestion actions including strict priority (SP), weighted round robin (WRR), SP+WRR and HQ+WRR queuing.Broadcast control cuts down on unwanted network broadcast traffic. Advanced QoS classifies traffic using multiple match criteria based on Layer 2, 3, and 4 information and applies QoS policies such as setting priority level and rate limit to selected traffic on a per-port or per-VLAN basis.Multiple user authentication methods include MAC Authentication, IEEE 802.1X and Web for greater, policy-driven security.Enhanced security features include port isolation, STP BPDU port protection and root guard. Radius/HWTACAS eases switch management security administration by using a password authentication server.
